Analysis On The Current Situation Of The Government's Food Safety Supervision And Countermeasure Research

Food safety issue has come in the spotlight in China and the world at large. Food safety supervision has been attached great importance to and treated as an important task by the government in many countries. In recent years, serious food safety events have occurred frequently, such as the'Sudan Red'incident, the incident of 'big-headed babies'fed by the fake milk powder in Fuyang, Anhui Province and the incident of'kidney stone babies'fed by the milk powder with Melamine which stunned the whole country. All these events have shown that the effect of food safety supervision in our country is unsatisfactory. The work of food safety supervision in China started late and has weak foundation and backward scientific research. The overall level of food safety is not high and the effect of food safety supervision is not satisfactory. Therefore, the improvement of the government's supervision system in this respect is in great need.Centering on the government's food safety supervision, conducts the doctrinal analysis on government's supervision of pulic goods and explores the necessity of government supervision responsibility.The essay, on the basis of exploring relevant theories, conducts some case studies in such developed countries as the US, Japan, Germany, Canada and etc. By analyzing the food safety supervision system in these countries, the essay aims to learn from their successful experience and probe the practical methods to improve the current situation of the food safety supervision in our country. To be more specific, the essay starts from analyzing the current situation of food safety supervision in our country and discovers the problems herein, in the hope of putting forward some constructive suggestion and effective solutions in this field. The author of this essay holds that efforts should be made in the following six aspects:firstly, reform the structure of the food safety supervision organization; secondly, improve the laws and regulations of food safety; thirdly, strengthen the testing system of food safety; in the fourth place, emphasize the establishment and promotion of HACCP system; fifthly, establish and perfect the food recall system; sixthly, construct the food safety education system in China.
