With the booming technology and economy, people have the higher requirements for perception of the world. Therefore, more advanced medicine and biology are pursued by many investigators. Among them, exploring the mysteries of human brain is very attractive and useful to human. After years of research, the integration of electronic technology and signal processing technology allows researcher can look into the information of human brain. It is a very effective method to decipher the brain's information through the acquisition of the human electroencephalogram (EEG). As an important biological signal in human body, EEG includes a large number of biological information. Since the EEG was first discovered by Dr.Hans Berge in1924, the researches of EEG are gradually rising in the world. The application of EEG cover the field of diagnosis of brain disease, adjuvant therapy, cognitive thinking. Those applications have immeasurable prospect in the field of rehabilitation and military. The premise of all EEG research is the effective acquisition of EEG data. However, the early EEG acquisition device is bulky; the requirement of device's work environment is demanding. Moreover, due to the export restrictions of medical equipment between different national.EEG acquisition devices are typically expensive. These problems increase the costs of EEG research in some extent and also hinder the development of EEG research.In this paper, an EEG acquisition device base on high-performance circuit and virtual instrument is designed for the characteristics of human EEG. First, the physical characteristics and physiological characteristics of the human biological signals are deeply studied in research. The value of the EEG signal in the field of biological signals is identified.Subsequently, the difficulties and key points in the technology of EEG acquisition are analyzed in detail. Secondly, the overall design of the EEG acquisition device is proposed on the basis of the EEG theory. The design of EEG acquisition device is systematic and modular. EEG conditioning module with High-performance is designed to detect EEG signals from human head epidermis. In addition, in order to obtain digital EEG data that are adapt to digital signal processing algorithms on PC, the highly integrated digital module is developed to carry out the digitization and data transfer of EEG. Finally, the virtual instrument based on Lab VIEW is added to the design of EEG acquisition device. Virtual instrument has a strong advantage in the design of a modular data acquisition system. EEG data acquisition software will be developed by LabVIEW at low cost.The test results show that the EEG acquisition device designed has excellent system performance in the ordinary unshielded environment. Experimental EEG data are processed by signal processing algorithms. The results of algorithm analysis reflect the change of EEG rhythms and the energy distribution of EEG. So, the features of human EEG could be revealed in this paper.
