Science communication is the inevitable path to improve the scientific literacy of the public in China. Due to its functions and advantages in mass communication, media plays an indispensable role in the implementation of science communication. However, there are many problems in China's present media science communication which seriously obstruct the development of China's science communication.This paper will begin with the discussion of the meaning of science communication and then figure out it's relation with science popularization and public understanding. The study serves as the basis for examination of china's practical activities on media science communication. The existing problems are summarized in the following aspects: dynamics, depth,,accuracy and effect.Focusing on these problems, the paper moves on to find out the internal and external causes by detailed analysis of the problems. The internal causes includes lack of communicative force resulting from market orientation, delay in the awareness of science communication, dereliction of censors in science communication and shortage of talent in science communication. The external causes include:lack of funds in media science communication, the weak theoretical research in media science communication as well as lack of support and cooperation between scientific groups.After finding out the crucial reasons, the paper proposes detailed solutions to the problems which appear in China's media science communication. The strategies applied by the government are allocating more funds and encouraging sponsorship from the public, nurturing talent specializing in media science communication, training the present personnel, encouraging cooperation between scientific groups and media, enriching the communicative information source and vigorously facilitating the theoretical researches in science communication by research institutions. The strategies applied by media mainly includes:enforcement in legislative construction on censors of the science communication, innovation in the forms and measures of science communication by studying the audience psychology, complementarities of resources between traditional media and web media as well as improvement in the intensity and scope of communication.
