Improving scientific literacy of teenagers is the requirement for social development at the era of knowledge economy. Since current education was still oriented at entering a better school, teenagers need to have a more acceptable and interesting method to support their school education. This paper planned to analyze the impacts of scientific education programs on teenager's scientific literacy, and the specific process of these impacts.The study was mainly based on the quantitative research. Quantitative study was carried in two secondary schools in Beijing simultaneously. 345 students were chosen to investigate their basic status of watching scientific& educational TV programs. Analysis of the questionnaires showed that: the majority of students loved to watch the scientific& educational TV programs. The correlative analysis found that: there is significant influence on scientific literacy of students from secondary schools by watching scientific& educational TV programs. All these proved that, as a scientific education method that teenagers like, the scientific& educational TV programs can promote the scientific literacy of teenagers. And the biggest barriers to carry out this scientific education method were the academic pressure on teenagers and the quality of scientific& educational TV programs.In addition, a Grade 11 student's experience of watching scientific& educational TV programs was chosen as a case study. The result showed that the scientific& educational TV programs had long-term and potential impact for teenagers. As well as education from family and school, the scientific& educational TV programs took charge with the scientific education partly. By affecting awareness, attitudes and behavior of teenagers, the scientific& educational TV programs have influence on development of their scientific literacy. According to their original cognition, teenagers decoded television information. Systematic scientific knowledge system was shaped ultimately by adding new stimulus to original pattern or changing original pattern by new stimulus to new pattern. The impact of scientific& educational TV programs for teenagers's scientific concept was consistent, which was built on the basis of family scientific education and school scientific education. While the audio-visual and other sensory stimulation got the psychological identity, the attitude will start to change. The impact of attitude change to the action is divided into two modes, on the one hand, teenagers imitate behavior in the television programme, in particular the action got compliment. On the other hand, their attitude change will change their behaviors.This study to the reality enlightenment is that the scientific& educational TV programs answered teenagers's needs of psychological cognitive development, and is welcomed because of its highly functional information and entertainment features, therefore, had the impacts on improving the scientific literacy of teenagers. Hence, in order to construct favorable scientific education environment for promoting scientific literacy of teenagers, we should establish a trinity scientific education system combing school, family and society (TV media) education together.
