AWA DVOR / DME equipment, which mainly provides direction and distance information for the aircraft is an important basis for the flight. Since the equipment was introduced into our century, it is widely used in the field of radio navigation. Whether it works smoothly or operates properly is directly related to the flight safety. But according to the needs, AWA DVOR / DME stations are built in remote areas. Confined by technical level at that moment, device does not have remote monitoring capability. Therefore, at the moment of the equipment construction, the problem of remote monitoring was not considered and human duty was used to manipulate the equipment. This leads to high cost and difficulties to do maintenance. There is no way to remote monitor this equipment in the ATC building and assess its operation objectively. People will lose control of equipment operation and lose the chance to take preventive measures, eventually cause air safety problem. This topic comes from AWA DVOR / DME equipment remote monitoring renovation project of Southwest Regional Air Traffic Management Bureau.The research object is AWA DVOR / DME equipment remote monitoring software system design and implementation. Combined with Application of remote monitoring system and its current situation and development trend,and from the engineering point of view, this essay deeply explores and makes research on some basic principles, relevant theory, and implementation techniques of AWA DVOR / DME equipment remote monitoring systemBy studying the application of remote monitoring and analysis of system architecture, design, implementation methods, the essay can develop AWA DVOR / DME equipment remote monitoring software system. It is also combined with the current development status of monitoring software and the actual situation of AWA DVOR / DME equipment in Southwest Regional Air Traffic Management Bureau. Developed system allows technical staff to realize remote control, monitoring maintenance, and data processing on AWA DVOR / DME equipment spread across the navigation stations which can meet the stations'working requirements of unattended, regular inspection.With software engineering ideas, combined with the remote monitoring system development strategy, the whole process is divided into 5 periods, as follows: planning, analysis, design, implementation and operation and maintenance. Programming uses Visual C++, System running on the mainstream WinXP operating system.AWA DVOR / DME equipment remote controlling software system provides a platform of remote control for technique staff and allows them to realize remote control, monitoring maintenance, and data processing on AWA DVOR / DME equipment which spreads across the navigation stations. This can meet the stations'working requirements of unattended, regular inspection. Thus a lot of manpower and financial resources can be saved, and AWA DVOR / DME equipment fault detection and repair can be done more accurately and quickly, and prevention can be taken first so that flight safety can be guaranteed.
