The product users, maintenance technicians and maintenance equipment are very likely to be intwo or more cities because of those large electronic equipments’ complication and the limitations ofits application, which means, great economic loss will been brought to the users once some faultappear on the instruments while they can’t be solve in time. So how to solve the problems of theinstrument immediately and effectively, ensure the normal operation of the equipment, save the timeit wasted, and reduce the economic loss have become the most concern of the equipment users. So thehardware’s equipment remote maintenance online monitoring technology has become one of the hotspot of research.In this paper, starting from the point of view of engineering applications, the method of signalprocessing and knowledge-based diagnostic methods combined, take Intel9xx series motherboard’smaintenance as example, designed a C/S structure mode circuit remote maintenance onlinemonitoring system which based on virtual instrument technology.In this system, it designed three modules, which are site monitoring module, the monitoringcenter and monitoring terminal. The site monitoring module, which is responsible for data acquisition,including interface card information and probe information, was based on virtual instrumenttechnology. Firstly, use the remade main-board-failure-detection-card to get onboard informationthrough the motherboard PCI slot, and then pass the information to the DAQ through the cable, finally,the system converted the analog signal to digital signal. On one hand, the signal will be showed asfailure code on local computer; on the other hand, it will be send to remote computer after beingdisposed by the system. Maintenance technicians can figure out the exact problem of the instrumentwith the help of the failure code and the code table.The monitoring center is set up in a server with a static IP address. It is responsible for the data,which are from site monitoring module, processing, classification and display, store and send.Considering the memory of single chip, and the problem of information’s security, this systemchooses the TCP/IP protocol while developing. This system is developed under LabVIEWenvironment, using win sock network programming interface to realize data collection and send.Monitoring terminal is located on a computer which can connect to Internet network.Monitoring terminal is responsible for the information’s receiving, real-time displaying, timelypreservation and control command’s sending. The users just need to install and run the client program,login to the server in the monitoring center, and then they can observe all the real-time data and waveform that come from the monitoring center, besides, they still can watch the video of themonitoring center, send instructions that are to be executed to remote monitoring center timely.In order to further reduce the cost of maintenance, this system tentatively set fault diagnosis toprecision component level, considering some interference during the way of remote transmission, wedesigned a signal processing functions in the monitoring terminal, including de-noise and neuralnetwork training.Test results show that the system is stable and high reliability in operation, monitoring effect isgood, and at the same time, it’s easy to installation and operation. With a friendly interface and strongcommonality, it provides a feasible and low cost remote monitoring method for electronic circuitmaintenance.
