Multi-dimensional Analysis Of The Capital Budget System

This paper, based on a systematic study of the technology of data warehouse and OLAP Technology (online analytical processing technology), investigates and analyses capital budget management requirements of scientific research in detail, and then designs to develop a multi-dimensional analysis system of research funds budget. Its main contents are:1. Considering the actual needs of research and capital budget management, it is analyzed that introducing the data warehouse technology and OLAP Technology benefits improving management efficiency, precision management and strength of management.2. The suitable development platform for this project is selected from a number of the data warehouse and online analytical software products.3. Through Cognos Impromtu tools to achieve data extraction, transformation and loading (Extraction Transformation Loading, ETL), the source data stored in SQL Server2000forms multi-dimensional data set;4By using Cognos Transformer component tools as OLAP engine and PowerPlay as presentation tool, the data in the project management system can be analyzed from multi-angle and multi-level to provide the basis of a dynamic decision-making for project management organization.5Based on the human-computer interaction, with the aid of the technology methods of the data warehouse like drill, slice, dice, Pivoting, the fast and accurate decision analysis can be achieved.The development strategy, research methods and key technology used in the system has a certain reference value in the development construction of related data warehouse system.
