With the development of IT and the increasement of enterprises'data, Decision Support System (DSS) has brought new opportunity for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Integrating DSS into ERP system will assist enterprise to draw useful data from ERP datasource and change the data into information to guide actions. It will minimize the decision time, maximize the resource utilization and enhance the competitiveness of enterprises. The printing industry ERP is representative in the information system. The thesis focuses on a printing industry ERP. It analyzies the enterprise demands and provides an explicate design for On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) system and examples.Firstly, this thesis introduces several topics of Data Warehouse (DW) based on the enterprise demands. And in accordance with the dimensional modeling steps, this thesis makes sure of boundaries, selects the dimension and fact tables and establishes a DW concept model. It completes the design of the data warehouse for the printing industry enterprise. Then it builds the DW and extracts data from the operating database to the DW by the tool of DTS in SQLServer 2000. It also gives the steps of implementation of extrating by showing marketing theme. On the basis of the DW, this thesis studies the principle of the Mondrian OLAP, the process of building OLAP cubes and multidimensional Expressions (MDX) of marketing theme. Then it introduces the code and application process of Jpivot. Finally, it tests the system and provides the pictures of final results. Meanwhile, the analysis provides that the system can achieve the enterprise demands and enhance the decision-supporting function for the printing industry ERP.
