Study On Packet Transport Network Planning Technology And Its Application In Wuxi Unicom

With the fast increase of various data services (i.e. 3G) there has been an obvious trend for full IP centered service in future networks. Packet Transport Network (PTN) and IP Radio Access Network (IP RAN) technologies present good solution for packet service transporting and carrier grade quality of service which makes PTN and IP RAN as research focus. This thesis presents a comprehensive on PTN and IP RAN technologies.Firstly, this thesis gives a brief introduction of PTN principles and major technologies. Followed are the analysis of service requirements and comparison of different implement technologies. The PTN network planning techniques and construction issues are proposed. Finally, specific PTN network planning and implementation scenarios in Wuxi Unicom are provided.
