Driven by the trend of telecom business transferring to IP bases, convergence of Land-Lineand Mobile, and convergence of Triple-Network, the TDM based business carried by thetransmission network is changing to IP base. To meet the requirements of multi-play service,OTN/DWDM large-scale application has been accepted on the core transmission network level. However a packet transmission technology should be developed to transmit data packets in asufficient way and to provide the P&OAM and security in the telecommunication level. This article briefly introduces the current status of optical transmission network and the IPbearer network and the requirements of packet transmission by convergence of Triple-Network, andthe principle, architecture, relevant protocols and the progress of standardization of PTN. Thisarticle mainly analysis the current condition of telecommunication transmission network level ofChangshu Telecom, existing problems while accessing the service for mini base stations,3G basestations and enterprise. Furthermore plan and design PTN technology to construct a fast and securedmulti-transmission network for mini base stations,3G base stations and enterprises. The designingis to consider the possibilities of service expansion and bandwidth expansion, the PTN accessnetwork can accomplish the simple, rapid port expansion and bandwidth expansion withoutinterrupting other operations.Through the comprehensive analysis of the pilot PTN access network, it is clear that PTNaccess network satisfies the requirements of high-bandwidth, high-reliability, manageability, andguaranteed QoS for the multi-service packet bearer network. It meets the multi-service accessingneeds required by mini bureau stations,3G base stations and enterprises.
