Study On The Solution Of How To Provide Multi-services By EPON Technology

According to the development guidelines of broadband access network for China Unicom, most of the fixed broadband access network should be constructed by optical fiber, and the priority should be given to the use of PON technology. With the access node geting gradually closer to the user, FTTH will be realized, and the bandwidth will be highly promoted. FTTH can meet the needs of video, data and some other high-speed broadband business.EPON (Ethernet passive optical network) is a kind of PON network, which is composed by OLT, ODN and ONU. Its main features are point to multiple points, line passive, and simplified network levels. The use of EPON can not only provide high bandwidth, but also can save the construction cost and operation cost.This paper introduces the EPON network model and network structure first. Then the EPON application mode of construction, construction strategy and principle, analysis of PON's application scenarios are described. The key point of the paper is to explore the advantages and implementation of multiple business requirements. Using the EPON access project for Industrial Bank Jinan Branch as an example, in which the EPON technology is used, a practiced network solution would be provided in this paper.
