Under the background that Fixed-line operator in the world are committing to enhancing network bandwidth and service providing capacity,"Optical fiber instead of copper" become an irresistable trend. Full used the features of Fiber like low-cost, long working life, flexible connectingup and bandwidth providing capacity. FTTx Network access layer become the target of operators around the world because of its strong Construction Business providing capacity, convenient Maintenance Management and lower overall construcion costs.Applied of EPON access technology is research deeply in the theoretical and practical in the paper.First, briefly analysed the development of communication services and requirements to bandwidth, introduced the concept and implementation technology of FTTx.The focus of the discusses the current commercial conditions for EOPN technology, and analyzed the EPON technology system structure, working princIple, key technology,And points out EPON technology is passive optical network and IP technology fusion.it have the advantages of low cost management convenient, maintenance, operation efficiency higher, so EPON technology has very bright prospects. Then,the typical application of FTTx is researched in different ways,and the corresPONding technical solution is provided. At the end of this paper, my experience in the first phase of Guangxi Telecom FTTH construction will be described. I was involved in the initial network design, equIPment selection, engineering test and a series of work, and I focused on the research and practice of this project solutions, which including network design, services provide design,ODN-construction and other aspects. At the same time, I analyzed the inadequacies of the network from network stability and post-maintenance view.Finally, the paper summarizes the EPON-based FTTH broadband integrated solutions. FTTH has comprehensive advantages such as low cost, new technology and services quality. So it is the most feasible FTTx broadband integrated access solutions. Meanwhile, the future development trend of FTTx network will be broad prospects and bright.
