With the development of CAD, the application of CAD/CAM into NC tool production has become an effective approach to guarantee designing and processing quality of machine tool's components and improve efficiency. Now foreign NC tool manufacture industry has greatly shortened the NC tool of making period, heightened the NC tool of technical content and reduced the cost by making use of CAD/CAM technical. To the contrary, NC tool manufacture industry in our country has lagged behind, especially in the state-owned enterprises. China's ability to compete with international NC tool manufacture industry is weak.This paper, which combines technology of CAD and lots of mould design experience, seek a NC tool's parts design system fitting corporation. This paper establish basic frame of developing common use parts library, which helps finishing the design of milling cuteer design system better. The main study is finished as follows:Windows XP Professional is used as the operating system, the parts family is created using the strong parametric shaping technology of CAD/CAM/CAE soft Unigraphics NX developed by EDS company.The user menu is made by UG/Open MenuScript tool, the user dialog box is designed by UG/Open UIStyler tool. The three-dimension parametric drive module of CNC milling,by the method of character shaping combine with programme making use of interior developing language provided by second developing moudle UG/OPEN API and Visual C++6.0 high level language.The parametric and feature modeling basic theories, the correlation technique of UG second development and the method of creating common use parts library based on UG are studied deeply. The complete actualization process is obtained by practising the user interface and application program design again and again and studying the second development method of UG in detail.Take straight shank cutter and its associated components parametric modeling, parametric-driven, establishment of parts library for example,expound the whole process of system design and verify the significant of application of this design system for improving the design efficiency and enhancement of management of pre-existing parts library.
