| As a part of the national project of digital library construction, regional digitallibrarys shall provide quality information service for regional users, and play animportant role in promoting the regional information resources sharing andinformatization level and even the development of regional economy.The digital library in Ningbo, invested by the local government, is a cross-systemproject. The structural system would set an example for other regional libraries. Itputs the quality service at the first place,focuses on the construction and takes servicepopularizing as a breakthrough. Besides, it stresses its cooperation with otherenterprsies and has achieved remarkable results since its opening. Ningbo digitallibrary has much influence in the relative field in China. It is acclaimed as"NingboMode"in the field of regional digital library construction, that is, lead by thegovernment, constructed cross-systematically, and facing the whole society, especiallythose enterprises, with sepcialized resources. It brings in proper market mechanismand follows the spirit of sustainable development and attaches much importance to theusers'status. What's more, it well coordinates the relationship and positions ofdifferent member libraries, which provides much value to the further research onsustainable development of regional digital libraries.This thesis will start with a discussion on the present situation of digital libraryconstruction, and focus on the construction idea, goal, task and characteristics ofNingbo digital library, and will introduce the unique digital resources. Taking theconstruction of Ningbo digital library as an example,through existing researchmaterials and investigations,this thesis will find the six guarantee mechanisms thatensure the sustainable development of the library, which are funds, organization andadministration, digital resources, human resources, technology platform and qualityservice.Good social benefits and economic benefits are required for the healthydevelopment of a digital library. This thesis focuses on the active work ofpopularization and other services done by Ningbo digital library since its opening, andputs forward several modes and suggestions which may lead to good social benefitsand economic benefits. |
