The key value of museums for the sustainable development of society has become a fundamental consensus in the field, and they have shown their natural professional advantages and unlimited potential in creating and conceiving a future human society with equity, continuity and commonality. The development of museums and sustainable development are intrinsically and externally extensively linked, and it is therefore necessary to focus on the reality of museums’ living environment under the two-way interaction between natural and human ecology, and to search for the new conditions, resources and missions that new trends bring to museums. The promotion of sustainable development as an in-depth way of thinking and practicing in museums should be an important part of the museum’s daily work, adjusting its mission, function and social role in time, and re-examining,evaluating and even breaking through. In view of this, this paper takes the core connotation of the concept of sustainable development and the latest consensus of "museum ecology" as the framework of change for sustainable development of museums in border ethnic areas, with the two-way interaction between natural ecology and human ecology as the background. In the process of establishing a deep connection with the regional museums,we think deeply about the integration of sustainable development into the museum field and explore the development strategies of regional museums.Hulunbeier is located in the northern frontier of China,a multi-ethnic settlement since ancient times, and ethnic interactions have revealed the diversity, complexity, and ethnicity of the culture. The unique historical and cultural relics are important physical evidence of the development of regional civilization, and lay a solid material foundation and emotional deposits for the development of cultural and archaeological undertakings in the region.Hulunbuir regional museum development has always been with the local resources mining, urban development and construction in the same direction,"to tap the local, show the characteristics of" the concept of display to a certain extent to promote the renewal of regional museums and social benefits. But we cannot ignore the limitations and dilemmas of museums’ living environment and operation methods, which are influenced by geographic, historical, economic and technological factors. To guarantee the release of healthy, permanent opening and continuous functions of museums,to promote the connection between local and central, part and whole in the display of regional history and cultural characteristics, and to provide a platform for communication and interaction between different groups.Respecting cultural diversity, giving recognition and affirmation to specific groups and ethnic groups, and prompting museums to naturally create more public value should be the path for the future development of museums in frontier ethnic areas. This study adopts a regional research perspective and focuses on the open and operating museums in Hulunbuir.Combining historical memory with modern wisdom,it explores a new model of museum heritage sharing, promotes two-way dependence and participation between museums and society, and provides new ideas and methods for cultural development changes in ethnic regions.First,we explore the laws and characteristics of the Hulunbuir region’s development in the elaboration of its history: focusing on the unique folk customs and culture of each ethnic group under the co-existence of multi-ethnic groups and different social forms;ethnic migration, exchange and integration, interaction and promotion between local and central, local and overall.Secondly,we review the history and current situation of museum construction in Hulunbuir region, and summarize the characteristics and prospective trends of museum development. Then, according to the problems and dilemmas of regional museum development,we explore the ways to innovate the concept, function, and technology of museums in border ethnic areas. The sustainability and effectiveness of museums’ sustainable development is explored through the renewal of their operational models, the stabilization of their functions, and the construction of a mission vision. Finally,we consider the social role of the museum as a "pivotal body" and "action body" in the construction of an open service system and a pluralistic discourse system for museums in ethnic areas in border regions. |
