Phylogeny Study Of The County Level Library Of Henan Provlince From 1901 To 1948

County library played a fundamental and special role in China's library undertaking during the period of the republic of China. Library constructions at different municipal and provincial levels push ahead the cause of cultural development in the mainstream of Chinese library construction. The province of Henan, a land bearing extensive and sophisticated culture with along history, also plays a conspicuous role in the constructions of modern library. Over the past centuries, Libraries of different counties in Henan has formed a kaleidoscope of developmental pattern and demonstrated the long history of library constructions at the fundamental levels. Seeking the law of developments of county libraries in Henan and the sophisticated and delicate relationship between them deserve our attention. Therefore, further research on this subject realistically marks the tough process and melodies of modernization of Henan under the general trend of cultural developments.Henan library cause played not only the fortissimo historical melody but also blend with the melodies of researches on libraries of other provinces. The library cause of Henan and those of other provinces make a concerted effort to compose and play a song of library construction with strong characteristics of the republic of china.Originated in the end of Qing dynasty in the year of 1911, libraries of different counties in Henan got an initial development. However, these libraries functioned practically after the May 4th movement in 1911.Under that current political situation, firstly, more and more people showed increasing attention to domestic and foreign c affairs of the republic of china and craved for extensive reading.Secondly, it proposed the policy of"avocation of mini-library"at the sixth conference of national educational federation, which encourages the entire nation to build libraries at county level. Northern Warlords Government of China also ordered"the public libraries of different counties should collect and conserve public and private books as well as books of older versions and print artifacts". At the time, the government of Henna overcomes various financial predicaments and finally realizes the raising of funds for cultural and educational. As a result, catering for different people and organizations, county libraries of Henan came into being through concerted efforts.In this paper, the local historical materials of Henan about the period of the republic of china were collected, screened and arranged. Based on researches on the evolution of 108 henan county libraries carried out by famous forerunner Tao ShanGeng, the author of this paper further classified, explored Henan county libraries to get an overall view of these libraries aiming at the lack of systematic research results on the libraries at county level in Henan province. Although it did not cover all the historical materials of 108 county libraries of Henan, this paper gave a systematic generalization of the characteristics and developmental process of these libraries at the latitude of time clues and longitude of information. The research in the paper belongs to the fundamental research in an analytical way from objective, practical and proper perspectives. Despite the lack of detailed analysis, the author expects to establish a reasonable and scientific structure for the purpose of making a contributable projection and probe of the rules and characteristics of henan county libraries'development during the period of the republic of China.
