The rapid development of computer and information technology, in one hand has greatly promoted the development of other industries, such as the development of popularization and application of 2D-CAD technology in AEC (Architectural/Engineering/Construction) industry, which is a reform innovation in design area; but on the other hand, the development and application of various types of auxiliary computer management system and software, make originally multifarious project document more complicated and diverse. In recent years, with the concept production and application of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in AEC area, BIM becomes another innovation revolution after 2D-CAD technology. The application and development of BIM in AEC area will be sure to draw more attention, mainly lies in:1) In all stages of design and construction, the application of BIM has an obvious growth trend year by year; 2) The users of BIM come from various professional fields of design and construction; 3) until now, the main field of application of BIM is construction document management, design and project planning phase, etc.In addition, ontology, a concept originated from the philosophy, ontology is becoming more and more prominent in knowledge reuse and the information retrieval after it was used to solve the related problem about knowledge representation and knowledge organization system.During the whole life period of construction project, a large amount of complex data and information are produced, mostly are stored in various types of document format. The traditional document management system just acts as an archives base, is lack of the ability in knowledge reuse and information retrieval. In view of this, this paper combines ontology into the construction project document retrieval, integrates the ontology-based document management system and BIM, and promotes the research on ontology-based document management system under BIM environment. The main works are as follow:Firstly, based on the detailed description of ontology-related concepts, ontology retrieval is put forward into construction project document management system. The concept layer and knowledge layer schema of construction project document are constructed on the basis of the construction of domain ontology in construction project document management to improve the retrieval efficiency and effectiveness and enhance the knowledge reuse of document data and information.Secondly, in the light of the specificity of Chinese text, which is the format of China's construction project document, an interaction framework between Chinese text document and BIM model object is put forward. Based on the ICTCLAS Chinese word segmentation method for Chinese text developed by Chinese Academy of Sciences, construction document is turned into vector expression. A classifier-IfcObject is introduced to BIM to build the relationship between BIM and document management. The query is turned into vector expression similarly to realize the interaction integration of BIM and document management system, so as to strengthen the significance and value of BIM as an integration platform of information.Thirdly, this paper introduces the system realization platform, including the construction tools of ontology Protege, SQL Server Database, and BIM platform software Autodesk Revit, etc, to provide basis analysis for the selection of platform for system development design. Finally, taking contract document as an example, this paper constructs contract management domain ontology. This paper analyzes the domain ontology data information which is in OWL format and sharing with SQL database, and the interaction between BIM model object data and SQL database. Through the analysis as the proof of feasibility about construction of system integrated with BIM and ontology-based document management, this paper provides support for basic research about further system development.
