Ontology-Based Information Resources Integration

Information resources integration can provide a global information view for user who can access the distributed and heterogeneous information resources. Ontology has a well-defined concept hierarchical structure and can support logic reasoning, so it can resolve the problem of semantic heterogeneity, but traditional integration method can't.This paper proposes the framework of Ontology-Based information resources integration of the distributed and network environment. The framework not only resolves the integration of government information resources, but also resolves the other domain if change the ontology and information resources. This paper builds a global ontology on governmental document, it takes relational database and XML as an example, extracts the local ontology by the pattern of local information resources, and builds the mapping between global ontology and local ontology, proposes the algorithm of global query decomposability and the algorithm of sub query transform,designs the wrapper which includes the services of query translation,query and result transform.The wrapper regists all services to the private register center of UDDI.This paper uses the query language which is similar to SQL,and uses object form to integrate the results,then returns to user.In order to verify the framework,this paper designs a ontology-based information resources integration prototype system, using OWL DL,Jena 2.5.3, J2EE platform, JSP, Struts, EJB, Hibernate,Web Services, jUDDI, UDDI4J to implement it. Finally, gives a summary of the paper.
