Agriculture, rural areas and farmers are always the matters that the Party and country care most and pay most attention to."Farmers"is the key factor of the three dimensional rural issues, especially after we come into the information era, how to effectively promote the farmers'information literacy is crucial to solving three dimensional rural issues.CPC central committee proposes strategic measures of constructing a new socialist countryside in its fifth session of the sixteenth central committee, which regards rural informationization as an important content. In promoting rural informationization, our country has laid emphasis on constructing rural informational infrastructure, academia has also made effective studies on this. But except informational infrastructure, human informationization is more important for rural informationization, especially the promotion of new generation farmers'information competence. In terms of this, not enough attention is paid to by theoretical circles and the government. only know more about the current situation of new generation farmers'information literacy and provide useful reference. the article will, taking Jilin province as example, analyze the matters concerning new generation farmers'information literacy on the basis of questionnaires and on-the-spot investigation. Starting from the current situation of new generation farmers'information competence, the thesis analyzes the basic connotation and components of the issue; after studying the farmers'information literacy in Jilin province, it is proved that the province lags behind in information consciousness, capacity and ethics. Therefore, we must take some measures to enhance new generation farmers'information competence, such as strengthening informational education, training, perfecting informational service system, stimulating farmers'related demand etc.
