Initiating from the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Chinese researchers, including experts of communications, international relations, psychology and other disciplines, start to focus on the study of national image. These theories have made the contribution applying to the latest practice of China's national image building. This thesis analyzes on the rebuilding of South Africa's national image, which is based on the authors'working experience in South African Pavilion during 2010Shanghai World Expo. The content includes the analysis on the theme and sub-themes of South Africa pavilion, which is keen to the new image of South Africa. The most important part is the specific introduction of "International Marketing Council of South Africa ", the South Africa image guarding organization. In the end, the paper reviewed the latest achievements of Chinese image building, and made the suggestion of establishing a special national image guarding administration like IMC affiliated to the State Council Information Office, which will integrate the national image building function of all departments of Chinese governments to ensure the implementation of Chinese national image building project more steadily and efficiently.
