With the development of science and technology, video surveillancesystem gets application and popularization widely, and it is moving to thenetwork, intelligent, high-resolution direction. Video surveillance controllershould keep pace with the times as a central control unit of videosurverillance system. Current controller has some shortcomings, such as notsupporting video surveillance network, supporting equipment is limited,inconvenient to operate and the inconvenience of the later firmwaremaintenance, can not meet video surveillance system's requirement. So it isnecessary to design a new video surveillance controller to solve these issues.Base on the new deign idea and using requirement, this paper describeshow to design a new video surveillance controller by considering systemarchitecture and convenience of operatation and use. The new videosurveillance controller can control video surveillance device handily, real timeand reliably. The paper includes three key points, as follows:First, it analyses work environment and control principle of videosurveillance controller. And it also analyses hardware platform of embeddedprocessor. It proposes to use the new embedded hardware processorAT91SAM9263to meet the video surveillance controller's work feature. Itmeets the system's requirements primely. Base on the video surveillancecontroller's requirement, this paper designs a new hardware system whichincluding minimum system circuit of the processor, memory circuit,communication circuit, and processor peripheral interface circuit. It can solvemany issues, such as equipment is limited, not supporting video surveillancenetworks, inconvenience of the later firmware maintenance, and so on. Second, the paper analyses a principle of capacitive touch, detectscapacitor value with relaxation oscillator, and Cypress's CY8C1434chip, itdesigns a capacitive touch wheel which is used in Video surveillancecontroller to control the menu and other devices. It also introduces detaileddesign for the touch wheel, including schematic design, PCB design, softwaredesign, structural design, and performance test.Third, the paper provides a solution which can use Ethernet interface toget power supply in system supply power design by analyseing PoE systemarchitecture, PoE transfer mode, PoE process and other electrical character.The solution can support PoE input and auxiliary power input, it also canoutput3.3V and5V for using.Considering the system hardware arthitecter and appearance, the paperdesigns a hardware system after researching three key technologies. Thehardware system includes three circuit printer boards such as mainboard, keyboard and touch wheel board. It introduces schematic design, circuit printerboard design, install, debug and test for these three circuit printer board. Thetest shows it can control video surveillance device handily, real time, reliablyand greatly improves the performance in convenient operation, supportingvideo surveillance network and many equipments, and it is convenient for latefirmware maintenance. Other, the touch wheel has a responsive, convenience,and low cost. It is a good solution to control the menu of video surveillancecontroller and video surveillance DVR and other equipment for the controlproblem of inconvenience. To design a system supply power by using PoEtechnology supports auxiliary supply power input and PoE supply powerinput, which solved the issue of power supply inconvenient.
