At present,ARM microprocessors already have been applied in a variety of areas,relative statistics show that the application amount of the ARM microprocessor-based equipment have far exceed the number of general-purpose computer,the development and application of ARM-based microprocessor is becoming the trend of technology the digitalage. And during the present rapid development in the Internet days, Networks have infiltrated every aspect of our life. In the Embedded System,combination with network has become an inevitable trend for the development of embedded systems.With the development of embedded technology and network technology, industrial control equipment generally require that the system must have the ability to accomplish monitoring complex tasks and strongly controlling real-time, and can connect with a certain type of control network in order to achieve remote monitoring and control. The present single-chip technology being used is poor to communicate, and lack of many issues such as real time control, the system using a unique network communication of ARM microprocessor to achieve the monitoring of industrial processes is undoubtedly a new attempt.ARM-based industrial control systems, the applications can be easily updated through the network, the data can be displayed at the scene through the LCD, important data can be stored in memorizer as document form, and the data and alarm information can be upwardthrough the serial port or Ethernet transmission . In this way, users can achieve the remote monitoring through the network or remote maintenance. In addition, by employing the existing software and agreements in operating system we can quickly set up foreground data acquisition system in order to achieve the communicaton between the monitoring system and background management system. The success of its design will solved the problem arising from the use of single-chip technology undoubtedly.In this paper, through a embedded network monitoring systems based on ARM9 chip AT91RM9200 processor, it elaborated the design and development process of embedded systems As a special computer system, Embedded systems generally includes the following three aspect: hardware, embedded operating system and application software. This article mainly develops with the three part.These include the following parts. The first part is the design of hardware circuits: a minimum system design and circuit design of the external expansion; the second part is the embedded operating system configurations: cross compiler build of environment, the transplantation bootLoader, the transplant of operating system of kernel and the transplant of file system. The third is design of the development for application software: the design of relative driver and the application .
