The embed-parts is widely and a large number of used in the industrial buildings. The embed-parts is mainly used to fix some large-scale equipments and protect some structture sides of structure building, the requirements of the design and installation of embed-parts is accurate size and reliable positioning. Currently, embed-parts design of industrial building structure always makes use of 2D CAD software, which is proven to be inefficient and error-prone. A generalized parametric template based assembly design method is proposed to improve the design efficiency and quality. Several issues aer studied as follows:In order to overcome the disadvantages of using 2D CAD software to design embed- parts, to achieve 3D rapid assembly, a 3D rapid assemble system for embed- parts is studied based on the analysis of system requiments. The framework of the system is prented, which includes three-demiension CAD software, embed-parts establishing template-library software, embed-parts template-library, embed-parts assemble design system, drawing automatically output system, et al.3D structure design is basis of the assembly design of embed-parts. In order to reduce the duplication of model design and improve the reusability of the model, the technology of embed-parts template used in rapid assemble design system is studied. 3D parametric feature modeling system is proposed to eatablish a embed-parts template-library.Templates in the labrary are classified, managed and organized as a tree.The embed-parts template is called when install embed-parts, the system modify the parameters'value and a new template is generated by dimension drived mechanism of parametric technology.A great number of embed-parts are used in the industrial building, and the assemble environment is complex. Rapid assemble technology is developed to improve the assembly efficiency, reduce the workers'work intensity and the chance of error, and adaptive-assembly technology is introduced for the characteristic of angle-iron's assembly. The rearserch of rapid assembly method is based on constraint solving techniques and characteristics techniques.Based on above research and InteSolid system, a embed-parts rapid assembly system ---InteRDS is developed according to the framework. With this system, designers can assemble the embed-parts easily, fastly and efficiently, the system has been successfully used in some large Engineering Design Institute.
