Research And Development On Rapid Parametric Modeling And Analysis Of A Crotch Structure

Since 1980s, parametric technology has being gradually become the key point to the research in the academia and the industrial realm. Many academicians proposed a lot of parameterized models and evaluation arithmetic from different application domains and different academic backgrounds.The realization technologies of the 3D parametric CAD system of crotch are studied according to the practical project. The 3D parametric design method based on features is applied to CAD of crotch structure. We can get the desired structure in CATIA environment controlled by VB. Raising a point of intelligent parametric design, which combined the field knowledge with the computer science effectively. Users can accomplish the structure under the ground of knowing all of the parameters in the user interface that is developed in the software of VB. And users can also accomplish it through the intelligent parametric design. The secondary development and the macro command of CATIA are used in this system, and the database software of ACCESS is used to store the information for the design.The results indicate that the parametric system and powerful parametric functions of CATIA V5 can be combined effectively. Furthermore, this work provided an absolutely new approach for the study and application of intelligent parametric CAD.
