Established on information technology, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), with systematic management idea, provides the policy makers and common employees of a company a platform for resource management. As a brand-new management strategy, ERP appears quite complicated owing to the different situation of various enterprises.The management level in China lags far behind the developed countries. Most of the enterprises fail to analyze their practical situation and choose certain standard ERP Products blindly, which always end up without success. Through much analysis of and research on the failed cases of the ERP applications at home, we think the design and realization of the ERP software should consider the practical needs of the enterprises, make an all-round and precise analysis of the enterprises'information needs and then create a characteristic ERP management system instead of standard ones concerning to the actual problems involved in their enterprise management.During the application of the ERP system of Tianjin XEDA Group, we have made a thorough and detailed analysis of the management status quo. Through elaborate investigation of the IPL management system and the business scope and working process in every department in XEDA Group, we learn the common and individual characteristics that every employee expects from the ERP software. Considering the special business nature (providing industrial real estate service for the development region) of XEDA Group, during the process of system design, we have based on the company's actual needs and individual requirements to adopt a modularized function design with different ideas for different modules. The system design has reserved the current management idea shown in the mature business modules of the currently used management strategy. What we have completed regards to standardization and informationization and meanwhile the original management idea is shown through the methods of informationization. Concerning to the weak points such as program cost control, budget management and so on, we have drawn lessons from other companies during the system design and optimize the whole management process. The practical needs of the XEDA Group have always been the ground for all the designs, which is well received by the managerial staff and the common employees as well in the company. After the system is put into effect, the original IPL management system has been extended and optimized and at the same time the weak links like budget management, dynamic cost control and decision-making assistance has been strengthened which means a great result of the ERP system.Based on the case of the ERP system design and realization in Tianjin XEDA Group, the essay aims to do some research on the information system design and realization in the real estate companies in China. And further research and practice is of course needed in construction site management, security management and human resource management. |
