As a new arisen automatic identification technique Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) technology has already been certificated and studied deeply by Experts at home and abroad in recent years, and its application foreground becomes more and more wide. Meanwhile Wireless Sensor Networks being a kind of interdisciplinary subject has also became the international studying hotspot. A method combining RFID radio frequency technology with ZigBee technology to realize books' tracking and positioning is proposed in this paper. The system that was applied to position and monitor the library books can not only realize the exactly book positioning and monitoring but also cut the cost.A wireless network monitor system is proposed based on CC2520 in this paper to solve the library books management confusion problem. In this method a Reader Network was formed combining RFID radio frequency technology with ZigBee technology to realize books tracking and positioning. Firstly a network tracking algorithm based on RFID-virtual routing tracking algorithm was used to realize the book tracking and localization. Then the GPRS technology is applied to transfer data of each base to master center. This system verified the wireless communication in the library. And the selected material were based on the principle of revolves low power consumption. In addition, the system is expansible and open as CC2520 can be connected with several kinds of MCU.The software and hardware design of the system and the principle of the tracking algorithm were introduced in detail in this paper. The result shows that the RFID technology has several advantages in the following aspects, such as strong direction sense, short distance recognition and medium sensitively. RFID technology being applied in library book position can replace bar code technology. The hardware and software platform of the positioning system is designed combining ZigBee's network technology with RFID. In addition, this system's Radio Frequency chips and processor chips are both with interface of RS232 and 485, which can effectively achieve the communication between the literacy emulators and some equipment such as gateway, and also make RFID network and transmission capabilities being expanded. The software design of the center system is simple and flexible. Users can modify data and transmit command directly by human-machine mode. After laboratory tests the system was proved to be stable and feasible.
