ZigBee is a wireless network communication technology which is characterized by low power, low cost, low rate and high reliability. It is specially designed for wireless sensor network and network contorl. Because of the application environment of wireless sensor network based on ZigBee is complex, Network energy consumption has been the research focus of many experts.In order to reduce the average energy consumption of ZigBee network, this paper introduced the DSR source routing routing mechanism and put forward research plans which limit the spread of RREQ grouping quantity and the direction of propagation and delay key nodes. Improved algorithms reduce greatly the number of RREQ packets, contorl the general transmit direction and range of RREQ packets, reduce the time of restart of route discovery mechanism when previous routing link failed. At the same time, taking into account the residual energy of nodes, the improved algorithms as far as possible to avoid lower residual energy nodes in routing mechanism.In the paper, NS2 simulation software is used for simulation and advanced analysis of designed four algorithms. The experiment results show that the design of the improved algorithm can effectively reduce the network energy consumption, extend the time for the effective operation of the network, and enhance the robustness of the routing link.
