ZigBee is a new short-range, low-power, low data rate, low complexity wireless sensornetwork technology. More and more people pay attention to it in medical, military, smarthome, industrial control, logistics and other areas. Physical and MAC layers of the ZigBeeprotocol stack using IEEE802.15.4standard network layer specification developed by theZigBee Alliance. As the energy of ZigBee network node is limited, the selection of thenetwork layer routing strategy for the entire sensor network plays a vital role. This paper onthe research and analysis of the ZigBee network layer, describes network topologyarchitecture, networking technology, node address assignment mechanism and routingmechanism in details. In the NS2network simulation software to achieve a Cluster-TreeRouting, aodvjr and Zbr routing algorithms, and from the average hop count, routingoverhead and the average end to end delay and other aspects of the simulation analysis. Onthis basis, this paper has mainly done the following work:Cluster-Tree routing algorithm, node according to the network address of the destinationnode to calculate the address of the next hop node, and thus decided to forward it to the parentnode or child node, For avoiding flooding pressure in the process of looking for routing path,in order to save network bandwidth and energy. However, compared with the complexity ofthe routing protocols, the biggest drawback of the Cluster-Tree routing algorithm increasesthe routing hops. This article presents a neighbor tables to improve the use of Cluster-Treerouting algorithm (ImTR), addition to considering the sons of the forward path, but alsowithin the scope of the use of neighbor nodes, so that ImTR routing algorithm than theoriginal routing algorithm has better routing performance.AODVjr routing algorithm can select the optimal path by flooding route request packet(RREQ) to find target node and record routing path, then the target nodes respond route replypacket(RREP) to the first arriving RREQ packet, which requires a lot of routing overhead andmay cause network congestion; This paper presents an adaptive routing request packetbroadcast RREQ limit the scope of the algorithm, using the address allocation mechanism andthe network topology reduces the route request RREQ packet broadcasting radius. Simulationresults show that improving routing algorithm can ensure the case of packet delivery ratio andreduce redundancy across the network routing requests RREQ packet, also reduce the noderouting overhead and improve the network performance.The Zbr routing algorithm combines the characteristics of the Cluster-Tree the routingand aodvjr routing, but also have the disadvantages of Cluster-Treeand aodvjr routing. Aimingat the shortcomings of the ZigBee sensor network routing algorithm, considering the networknode energy consumption problems, specialist put forward a kind of energy efficient routingalgorithm. The algorithm makes full use of the neighbor list information and cluster treedistributed address allocation mechanism, and the control data packet forwarding routerequest packet (RREQ) propagation direction, avoiding excessive energy consumption,energy by efficiently balancing network, the node routing consideration and energy levels.Simulation results show that the algorithm effectively balance the network energyconsumption and prolong the network lifetime.
