The Status Of Our Public Libraries Extending Services Issues

Public library is managed,subsidized and supported by the central or local government. Public library provides free services for the readers. Extended services are based on the traditional services of Public library. Through the extension of service space,service object,service content and service mode,public library plays the social education function,service ability and service coverage. Extended services provide diversified and personalized services for readers,which meet the readers'needs. Firstly,the paper discusses the meaning and significance of extended services. Secondly,from service space,service object,service content and service mode,we understand the development situation of extended services. From the investigation of the present situation of analysis,we can find many problems in the process of carrying out extended services. Thirdly,through the development situation of extended services and distribution of library resources in different regions,we found that the development of extended services exist imbalance. In addition,the fund of public library and the level of grass-roots libraries are also restricting the development of extended services in our country. In many restraints,service effect is not satisfactory. Then,the paper constructs and perfects the extended services of public library that improving the public library's extended services from the present situation of unbalanced development,increasing public library funds,attach importance to library own constriction,strengthening the primary library construction and improving extended services level are the five methods . At last,the whole study work is summarized. the paper looks forward the future of extended services and the deficiency.
