Clinical Research On Asthma In Chronic Persistent Treated By Acupuncture With Wenyang Liqi

Objective Based on clinical observation, the research focus on the clinical efficacy and lung function of acupuncture for asthma treated of chronic persistent.Methods According to inclusion criteria,60 bronchial asthma of chronic persistent patients who are selected from December 2009 to February 2011 period in outpatient and wards of Xiamen city Chinese medicine hospital,were divided randomly and equally into two groups.30 cases as the treatment group, which were treated by Wengyang Liqi Acupuncture treatment,30 cases as the contrast groupwhich were treated by Western Medicine only. Ten days is a course. This operation was done one time every other day.The total course of treatment is four courses. The clinical efficacy and the peak expiratory flow rate (PEF) of lung function were examined one day before and after the treatment. The use of statistical software SPSS 13.0 for windows analysis of data.Results1,Compared with the contrast group, the marked effective rate (P) of the acupuncture is less than 0.05, while the overall clinical effective rate (P) of the two group is larger than 0.05, It means the effect of acupuncture is better than western medicine in the treatment of bronchial asthma of chronic persistent, but the overall clinical efficacy is almost the same.2,The outcome measures:①Compared with pretherapy, the clinical symptoms after the treatment in the two groups is more improvement (P<0.01).It proves both treatments can significantly improve clinical symptoms in patients with bronchial asthma. Between the two groups,the clinical symptoms and signs points of the treatment group is lower than the contrast group. The differences were highly significant (P＜0.05). It means the treatment group in improving clinical symptoms is better than the contrast group.②The peak expiratory flow rate (PEF) of lung function in the treatment groups has increasing tendency is better than pretherapy(P<0.05). And the peak expiratory flow rate (PEF) of lung function in the contrast group isn't better than pretherapy (P>0.05). Compared with pretherapy, the peak expiratory flow rate (PEF) after the treatment in the two groups has significant difference(P<0.05). And PEF after the treatment in the treatment group is higher than the contrast group. There is statistic significance of the difference (P＜0.05). So the treatment group have a better efficacy for lung function than the contrast group.3,The treatment of the whole process is not case shedding in the two groups. In the treatment group has't a serious adverse reactions. In the contrast group,two patients feeled palpitation and headache,but it is transient. And this phenomenon is reduced with the conventional treatment.ConclusionWengyang Liqi acupuncture in the treatment of bronchial asthma of chronicity-persistent can significantly improve clinical symptoms and reduce the incidence of asthma. Others,it has a significant effect on lung function. The acupuncture treatment has much advantage,such as organism immunity was improved,airway hyperresponsiveness was degraded. This method was profit for asthmatic long-term stabilization, then its operation was convenient. So it can prevent the occurrence of the illness.
