The combination of automobile and electronics accelerates the intelligent level of mobile control and has changed our life a lot, which lead great business opportunities in this area. With the increasing popularity of guard system applied in automotive electronics industry, coding IC that necessary for automobile are becoming a new focus in power managing IC.Firstly, the operational principles and sort of coding ICs drivers are introduced. Based on the introduction and the power requirement for design, the whole chip circuit architecture is designed. The IC is based on CMOS manufacturing process and includes 20 units which form 1048576 different codes. It's a high performance and low cost IC with the features of simple application circuit and low power dissipation.Secondly, primary sub-block circuits are designed and simulated. The theory of sub-block circuits which include data input, oscillator, counter, time-control, frequency divider, address and data correction and data output are analyzed and these sub-block circuits are simulated using HSPICE.Finally, the whole chip function simulation and typical performance characteristics simulation were presented. The simulation results indicate the whole chip circuit has exact functions and meets the demands of applications. In the conclusion of this dissertation, all simulation results were compared with the requirements and some disadvantages and improvement directions have been suggested.
