Traditionally, serial model development process is used in the development of automobile electric control unit (ECU), which is long-cycle. With the automobiles' ECU becomes more complex, faster updates, serial model can't meet the requirements. V model development process is widely used currently to avoid this problem. Hardware-In-Loop (HIL) simulation is one type of simulation technology which introduces parts of the system in kind into the whole simulation links. It combines the high-performance of pure simulation and accuracy of experiment. HIL is the key technology of V model development process. Therefore, it's of great realistic significance to study HIL simulation technology.We introduce HIL concept to experiment teaching which aims at setting up automotive electronics HIL simulation platform to develop new teaching way and carry out the research of automotive electric control system's control logic. The work of this paper targets Jetta 1.6AT's ECUs. The overall structure of the platform is decided, and the corresponding experiments are designed for the purpose of teaching. The interface circuit boards connecting wiring harness and on-board computer is made without undermining the vehicle wiring harness. System hardware platform is developed using Protel DXP. HIL simulation model is built using Simulink. C-Mex communication S function is programmed using the serial communication functions provided by Matlab in order to connect the models and hardware system by data communication.Automotive electronics HIL simulation platform for experiment teaching is set up successfully. It can simulate automobile sensors' signals, actuators' drive signals, and acquisition sensors' signals accurately, as well as communicate with simulation model by bluetooth wireless communication. Using this platform, students can directly observe the automobile's electric control system and control theory. At the same time, students can change the model parameters to simulate different automobiles and different operating conditions. Together with its PC-friendly interface, the platform is very suitable for experiment teaching.
