The rapid development of the national economy boosted strong automotive consumption.Followed by the demand for vehicle safety, controllability and information technology functions, automotive electronics hardware and software architecture has become increasingly complex. It is also a test for the automotive manufacturers that whether they have an ability of controlling the time and cost all times. In order to solve the cross and dependencies relationship between the software and hardware, increase the developping speed of embedded automotive electronics software and the degree of component reuse reduce product costs, the industry put forward the Automotive Open System Architecture (AUTOSAR) which paved the way for the automotive electronics industry standardization level. As the core concepts of AUTOSAR, Virtual Functional Bus (VFB) implements strict isolation between the software component(SWC) and underlying infrastructure. Thus provide a unified application development environment for the development of the upper layer software. Based on the research of AUTOSAR standard and VFB specification, this thesis designs and completes a prototype of graphical application software design tool——VFB-designer. This has strong technological value and practical significance in understanding of the AUTOSAR standard and developing Automotive Electronics embedded software tool chain. The main contents include the following aspects:1. A thorough research on the AUTOSAR standard and methodology is made, the domestic and international status quo of AUTOSAR tools are analyzed.2. Through extracting the functional requirements from the automotive electronics Virtual Function Bus specification, the overall design of VFB-designer and the functional partitioning of the modules are completed.3. Using Technologies such as Eclipse plug-in, GEF, Artop, project management module and graphic design module are designed in detail. Finally, the function of managing project, graphically designing basic software elements such as component, compositon, port, interface, and automatically generating AUTOSAR standard description file after configuring model’s attributes are implemented..4. The basic functions of VFB-Designer prototype are tested. Finally, an application example is given.
