The topic is anterior research of the 863 Project"wearable network dedicated terminal architecture and key technology research". Aim at the bottlenecks of size and power consumption which was encountered in the wearable computer that use the COTS technology, the main purpose of paper is to develop a new generation of wearable computers that use SOPC design method and Dynamic Reconfiguration design technology. The wearable computer would meet the needs of different apply environments by dynamical reconfigure the reconfigurable modules, and can load the appropriate peripherals flexible.The paper research the SOPC design method and Dynamic Reconfiguration design technology, combine the two and put forward the design method that adapt to wearable computer, to design the wearable computer system which with dynamic reconfigurable function. The paper expatiates on the system's design from four sapects:1, Design the hardware platform of wearable computer SOPC system base on the needs analysis, resolve the communication problem between the wearable computer's modules. And the promblem of embedded PowerPC hard core how to control chip configuration access port. In the end, complete the design of LCD and VGA IP Core that use for wearable computer interactive interface;2, Transplant linux multitasking operating system to the hardware platform, write the drivers of LCD and VGA IP core, and completed the software design of dynamic reconfiguration;3, Base on the existing hardware platform and software platform, we design the wearable computer's reconfiguration module by the EAPR dynamic reconfiguration design technology, which put forward in the paper, and we experiment on the Xilinx development platform. The information displayed on the HyperTerminal explained the success of the experiment, and proved the validity of the design methodes in this paper;4, Size of configuration file and time of reconfiguration operation is two important performance indicators, we comparing the two performance indicators of global configuration and dynamic reconfiguration to demonstrate the design method proposed in this paper has the flexibility and efficiency when used in the wearable computer. This article's wearable computers compare to the one that use COTS technology, have lower power consumption, and better sustained performance.The paper research and design a new generation of wearable computers, not only improve system's resource utilization and reduce system's size, but also reduces system's power consumption. This paper's thesis can lay a basis for research and design on the miniature and low power wearable computer. It also can provide references for design idea and implementation scheme when studying and designing new wearable computer in other application areas.
