With the continuous development of micro-electronics and unceasing improvement of FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) technology, SOPC (System On a Programmable Chip) technic has gradually become the new development direction of embedded system. After thoroughly collecting and investigating the latest literature in the field of SOPC, in this thesis we choose FPGA embedded PowerPC405 processor hardcore to construct the demanded SOPC system. This system meet the application requirement of both the communication between 1553B Remote Terminal(RT) and Bus Controller(BC)and the controller of Flash Memory through hardware design and software program. In this paper, we introduce the basic structure and character of both PowerPC405 processor hardcore and Virtex-II Pro platform FPGA as well as the development instrument of both hardware and software. We also introduce the method of hardware design and flow of software design. We emphatically illuminate the structure and design process of SOPC aimed on these two applications. At the same time we also explain the design method of peripheral IP core and applied software flow. We can get the method of both realization and validation of the system. Comparing to traditional embedded system, the SOPC of this paper has greatly economized research time, decreased the number of chip, and improved the reliability of the system. It is easy for us to realize, upgrade and transplant the system. The system has strong adaptability and good extensibility. The design has satisfied the key design requirements of two aspects.
