As the development of industry automation, the shortcomings of the traditional mechanical paperless recorder and microchip system based paperless recorder are increasingly apparent, but the requirements of the users are rapidly increasing. Therefore it is urgent to develop a high precision paperless recorder with abundant GUI and a huge capacity of storage device to in place of the traditional products. This thesis develops a paperless recorder based on 32-bit high capability RISC microprocessor of ARM920T kernel and embedded Linux operating system. Multiple CPU architecture of ARM9 plus 89C51, multiple threads programming technology of Linux with a mass of API and the modulization development method of software and hardware are used to develop a new style paperless recorder that meets the requirement of market. And a new-style product of paperless recorder has been developed to meet the requirements of the market. Not only lightens the software programming burden, but also speeds the product develping. Base on the requirement of huge capacity of storage, FRAM is used as buffer to solve the shortcomings of both data lost at power-down and slow storing rate and short life time of Flash; software arithmetic is developed to realize the data synchronization in FRAM and Flash. Also, a method of both inter-storage and exter-storage device cooperating is used to avoid the problem of data lost when single storage device invalid.Functions and implementation of every module composing the system are analyzed in this thesis. Whole design flow, block diagram of the hardware and flow chart of the software are also showed. The system is divided into several modules and has the characters of easy reduction and extension. The experimental results demonstrate the good data acquisition capability of the system. After verification, the results indicate that the paperless recorder has satisfied the design requirement and the function of real-time sampling.
