Data Acquisition Technology is the primary means to get information,but also the basis and premise of industrial process control and monitoring. Instrument industry, the important application of data acquisition technology,is the high-tech industry of the traditional industry and it's also a importment industry that reflect the level of national science and technology. Recorder as an instrument is necessary tool that can get, transform, handle and record real-time data, to realize real-time monitoring and analying. It play a important role on industrial automation control system and can reflect a country's level of modernization. Recorder has experienced from the early analog paper recorder to the current paperless recorder. The paperless recorder has overcome the early analog paper recorder's shortcomings that would consume a large amount of resources and manpower, etc.Paperless recorder and its series of intelligent secondary instrument can increase economic benefit and reduce operator's workload, to make enterprises'management more networking and datamation.The project aimed at developing a multi-function paperless recorder based on embedded motherboard, the recorder has friendly interface, simple operation, application flexibility and other characteristics. The paperless recorder with 32 universal analog inputs, 16 switch outputs, 16 switch inputs, 8 voltage output of 0 ~ 2.5V, 8 current output of 4 ~ 20mA , 32 distribution output of 24V, it can gather, display, process, record and control signal; Using RS485 or MODEM to realize remoto-monitoring base on communication; Built-in high-capacity NAND FLASH can storage historical data. Through USB interface, users can save data to a computer or other device.Designed the overall programe of paperless recorder on the basis of comparing existing products of home and abroad and analyzed the technical difficulty of this project, including the achievement of universal data acquisition and Modbus protocol-based multi-machine communication. The design of paperless recorder include the design of data acquisition and control unit and graphic operation unit. The acquisition and control unit consists of universal data acquisition circuit board, the switch input circuit board and the switch output circuit board. Completed their schematic and PCB design, and develop driver procedures with the idea of modules. The graphic operation unit is composed of embedded motherboards, LCD and button panel.Developed the button panel and application software using the idea of object-oriented design with Net C # programming language.After completing the design of paperless recorder, data acquisition and control unit and graphics operation unit are debuged respectively, and the acquisition accuracy of paperless recorder is also tested. Experimental results show that the performance and the data acquisition accuracy of paperless recorder can meet expectation. The paperless recorder has the advantages of high precision, user-friendly, simple, flexible application, low cost, etc., and has broad market prospects.
