In 2001, the evening newspaper "Yangzi" began to send over SMS news which names "News reading at any moment", this is the so-called "pressing keys gently by thumb, news all in your palm" . From then on people can allow themselves to read news by mobile phone. July the 18^th 2004, "China Women·MMS" formally published the first mobile phone newspaper in China, after that, the mobile phone newspapers emerged exuberantly like bamboo shoots growing after a spring rain. Based on incomplete statistics, there are more than 300 mobile phone newspapers in our country now, nearly in every province, in every municipality and in every autonomous region people have their own local mobile phone newspapers. The rapid development of the mobile phone newspaper made the scholars and the experts concentrate on it, at the same time, it also caused disputes. At this moment, although there are still existing a lot of problems in the mobile phone newspaper, its emergence and use do make readers change their reading style to some extent, and bring the traditional media a new way to survive when encountering "inflexion", it also makes the situation of competition changed in some measure. Researching the mobile phone newspaper can not only provide certain experience for it's progressive developing, but also can bring a new idea for the development of the traditional media.Based on the success of former scholars, this thesis tidies up the developing history of the mobile phone newspaper and systematically sums up domestic and foreign mobile phone newspapers, sums up its definitions, analyses the positive and negative sides, then makes a new redefinition for mobile phone newspaper.This thesis sums up types of domestic and foreign mobile phone newspaper, discusses the type of its performance.This thesis discusses the disputed relationship between the mobile phone newspaper and the traditional media & internet in detail.At the same time, this thesis also discusses the problems of the mobile phone newspaper and provides relevant solutions for the problems.In addition, this thesis adopted the combined method of quantitative and qualitative analyze, selected the representative mobile phone newspaper which was published by major media and has already had a large scale— as a model text. In the part about form and content, it found out the text character of the mobile phone newspaper through content analyzing and data recording, provided concrete operating idea for the mobile phone newspaper redaction, in this part the methods of examining the selected models and data recording is chosen, about operating and profit model and some other sides the combined method of data recording and qualitative analyzing is chosen, and systematically anatomizes the operating and profit model of the < Xinhua mobile phone newspaper>. This thesis deeply discusses the success which the mobile phone paper has obtained and its recent problems; this thesis discusses the suited content models, operating models and profit models for the mobile phone newspaper, analyzes and prognosticates the future developing tendency of mobile phone newspaper. The aim of this thesis is to remove the bottleneck of the mobile phone newspaper developing, and find out the ways which mobile phone newspapers can adopt in order to develop positively and healthily.
