The Research On Mobile Phone Newspaper

The first mobile phone newspaper of China was born in 2004. However, the development of mobile phone newspaper has been in the initial stage by now, and relevant specialized researching works on mobile phone newspaper are also exiguous. This paper is aim for providing some useful advices for the development of mobile phone newspaper by analyzing its media characters and shortages of it. This paper primarily takes six pieces of mobile telephone newspapers in Canton as cases, with an application of content analytical method, the qualitative and quantitative research method.The first chapter of this paper mainly introduces the status quo of mobile phone newspaper research in China, and tries to give a definition on "mobile phone newspaper" again. Next chapter analyzes the background of mobile phone newspaper's appearance. The third chapter mainly expounds the category of mobile phone newspaper and the general development situation of mobile phone newspaper's development in China.This paper puts emphasis to the last four chapters. The forth chapter defines characters of mobile phone newspaper through several angles such as communication, content, and operation mode, and then generalizes the Pattern of transmission and operation. The fifth chapter makes a comparison between The Southern Daily Mobile Phone Newspaper and The YangCheng Evening News Mobile Phone Newspaper through the methods of quantitative contrast analysis and text character analysis. The Sixth chapter discusses bottlenecks and shortages of mobile phone newspaper from its contents, management, technique, and charging. The last chapter presents the promising future of mobile telephone newspaper, and put forward some ideas for the development of mobile phone newspaper.
