TV show is a new program style in China that started in 2003, enjoying high rating since its emergence and thus widely cloned to have covered the prime time on all major channels on weekends. Therefore, it has become the most popular TV entertainment program style today.'Super Girl', a civil TV show on Hunan Satellite TV in 2005 which caused great concern among various circles pushed the trend to a new height.The fever of'Super Girl'has brought about a new subject: neutralization. The winning of girls like Li Yuchun is considered the result of people's preference to gender neutralization which has replaced the traditional aesthetic fatigue. In addition, the popularity of boys like Xiang Ding in'My Hero'has marked the emergence of'metropolitan handsome-style man', which has gradually been leading the trend of fashion. Many people, therefore, think that the gender neutralization age is around the corner. This paper tries to find out the truth of the aforesaid phenomenon.This paper analyzes the reason for the boom of TV show, its basic mode as well as the social effect it has brought to audience. With comparison and contrast of the participants'styles in'Super Girl','Happy Boy'and'My Hero', and through interviews with some university students, it draws a conclusion– the fundamental argument of gender recognition of neutralization is different considerations of gender characteristics. Male-ism and female-ism have fundamental differences on recognition of gender characteristics. Gender neutralization is, in the advancement of female-ism and aggressive male campaign and with the anti-gender-naturism as the social mainstream, gradually becoming a popular trend. Gender neutralization does not emerge for no reason.Social entertainization of consumption, mass media and juvenile recognition group have great push to the boom of gender neutralization. We should perceive the gender neutralization trend from the perspective of transcen-dual-gender. Besides, though it just emerges as a fad without the competitiveness with the mainstream gender dominance, we can, from the trend of gender neutralization, re-recognize the relations between human beings and their genders, and explore about gender re-construction. Images and styles in TV shows have exerted profound effect on audience in that the seeking of the new and exotic, on one hand, is pounding young hearts, and blind imitation, cult for stars, and tendency of following the public have brought young audience a growing trend toward neutralization of aesthetic sense, starization of styles and diversification of personal qualities.
