Dating shows which are solving the problem of choosing a mate for single group,and are popular with the people,have gone through more than 30 years in China.In recent years,the topic of gender equality in online public opinion has become more and more hot.Young people have new confusion about entering intimate relationships.And it is a top priority that the appropriate guidance from dating show hosts about the concept of marriage and love which should meet the needs of the times.In this paper,the pragmatics strategies that can convey the concept of gender equality were studied by referring the verbal form of "politeness principle" in pragmatics,so as to provide a reference for dating show hosts to convey the concept of equal love and marriage.In this study,the use of the politeness principle of dating show hosts was taken as the research object.Based on gender theory,opinion leader theory and interpersonal rhetoric theory,the conversational corpus of Jingxing’s dating show "Hello The Other Half" was taken as a case study to explore the way,effect and optimization of the use of the politeness principle from the perspective of gender.The first chapter of this paper sorted out the development and current characteristics of dating shows,and the second chapter showed the challenges faced by dating show hosts and their solutions.In the third chapter,the characteristics of the overall use of the politeness principle in the case were summarized by quantifying it,and further the presentation of gender consciousness under the use of the politeness principle was qualitatively analyzed.In the end,the effectiveness and enlightenment of the use of the politeness principle were concluded in the fourth chapter.In summary,this study found that the appropriate politeness strategies can help balance public and private contexts,convey the concept of gender equality.In addition,the use of the same politeness strategies and the establishment of multi-dimensional gender value standards for both sexes should be helpful to solve the potential problems of "gender discrimination" and "gender value simplification" in the use of the politeness principle. |
