The development of the status of women is a measure of social civilization anddevelopment. During the process of shaping the female image in Chinese TV marriage datingshow, there are a lot of negative factors for female development. These factors will eventuallyhinder the realization of females equality and freedom.From the end of the20thcentury, Chinese TV marriage dating show began coming intoview. The developments of the show generally can be divided into three stages. At the thirdstage many TV marriage dating shows appeared, and "You Are the One" is the most attractingin2010. In thousands of years of Chinese history, women have been repressed by the feudalethics and social systems. Women had no political rights, economic rights, and the rights ofmarriage. They had to dependent on men for a long-term. After the May Fourth Movement,the founding of New China and the baptism of the reform and opening up, women started togo out into the community. Women finally owned financially independent, social status andbegan to exist as an independent person. In this process, the development of productive forces,the transformation of the social system, the progress of social relations and the intensificationof war, become an important factor to enable female image to change rapidly. Although TVmarriage dating show reflects female’s pursuit of individuality and respect for freedom of theimage of women on the surface. But in essence, it distorts the values of love and marriage andconsumption concept of women, which exaggerated and divorced from the reality of thefemale image, the stereotype of male to female, female to male attachment re-emergence of.In this process, The media itself to decide on the positioning of the image of women throughthe proposed state environmental agenda set. Society to influence the shaping of the image ofwomen through its game between feminist and patriarchal. The arrival of the consumersociety makes the construction of the image of women have a more complex socialenvironment. Female lost self-consciousness and returned to the situation of inequality andlack of freedom.For this, in this paper, we hope that through the media self-restraint, program staff toenhance the quality of themselves, as well as the improvement of the regulatory policy toimplement the social responsibility of the media. And using the gender theory as guidance,correct understanding of female image, coordination of the relationship of the sexes and using a scale to measure the value of both sides of the scientific development. Through the femaleimage of the contemporary value thinking, will we realize to healthy women image.Whereby, this article tries to research the Chinese TV dating show female images fromthe control of television, the guidance of media function, and the perspective of sociology,cultural science. We try to discuss how to build a real, healthy female image. On the subject,we will focuses on what is a female image, how female image shaped by the TV dating show,why the image of female shaping as this and how to shape the excellent female image.
