Applied Research, Based On Student Assessment System Data Mining

Along with the development of information technology, communication and computer technology, the range, depth, and scale of the application of database is growing, and meanwhile lots of large scale databases have already been setup in a wide range of fields. The development of data warehouses has made bulks of data be integrated and pre-managed. Because of the high quality of the data and the existence of the reliable information managing facilities, the research on large-scale data warehouses and data mining technology gains unprecedented emphasis.In recent years, the prevalence of higher education and the proliferation of university students bring along many problems, which demands a scientific and perfect information system of students' management. Applying data mining technology to information management of university students is a promising exploration to the above problems. Data mining technology is of great importance to the effective analysis and management of large scale data bases of university students, and to the improvement of management level and deficiency. Data mining technology is also beneficial to the decision making of various aspects of university management.The first part of the thesis gives a comprehensive introduction to data warehouse, Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) and data mining technology, with multi-dimensional cubic data mining idea as a focus. Multi-dimensional cubic data mining idea makes data mining more focused on the finding of knowledge and the potential ability of data mining technology. The first part research provides cubic theory basis for the data mining application to the information system of university student management.The second part of the thesis gives a brief introduction to the student synthetic appraisal system, which is an important part of the information system of university student management, On the basis of the former system, the thesis puts forward a new method of Student synthetic appraisal, namely, the quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis method, By combining the new method, data warehouse, and OLPA system, the author sets up a plane and cubic test system, and a multi-dimensional student synthetic appraisal OLAP mining mode. The new test system and mining mode were tested in university under graduates. In this part of the thesis, the decision tree classification of data mining is applied in student synthetic appraisal.
