In recent years, the development of China's telecommunications industry, especially the development of mobile communications is rapid. The numbers of subscribers for China Mobile alone by the end of 2004 was more than 200 million. Meanwhile, the data related to customers such as: call list, billing, customer preferences, customers' age, etc., are growing geometrically. The following points have become important means of gaining competitive advantage: How to use these data to dig into the deeper levels of customer demand information, how to provide appropriate communications with appropriate price for the appropriate customers at the right time and right place, how to reflect real-time customers' feedback in the process of telecommunications product design, production and services, and how to provide customers with more personalized and in-depth services.Data Warehouse and Data Mining can be used to better organize these massive data so as to achieve the best effect and provide a basis for company decision-making.This paper first introduces the data warehouse and the data mining technology, and analyzes the superiority of these two kinds of technologies in processing and analyzing history data. This paper then unifies the city-level mobile communication operational companies the actual demand and the environment, elaborates using the data warehouse and the data mining technology in detail, applies the SQLSERVER2000 platform to construct the analysis system in order to realize grasping the market tendency quickly and accurately, carries on the in-depth analysis of the data design and the realization process, and discusses the issues and the solutions which occurs in the project construction process. Finally this paper demonstrates the project's achievement.The project's customer analysis system is the combination of data warehouse technology, the data mining technology and the enterprise concrete business. The system has changed the original analyzed working mode, which leads to be more highly effective and to be accurate for the daily analysis work. This system has promoted enterprise's market competitive capacity and has obtained certain economic benefits.
