Since the conception of DSS was firstly put forward in 1970's, it has being developed by absorbing all sorts of new technologies. Traditional DSS greatly promoted the development of the decision support aided computer. But it is based on MIS database which is lacked of uniform and sufficient data, so the development of DSS was put off. In the middle of 1990's, there are three new technologies to come into being. There are Data Warehouse, On-Line Analytical Processing and DataMining. The combination of them conduces to the newest form of DSS—comprehensive Decision Support System.Social Insurance is an important measure to ensure the nation's long-term stabilization and safety, and it is relative to living, aging, illness and death of each employee. With our government strengthening reform and support of Social Insurance, different provinces have set up MIS one after the other, and accumulated a great deal of operation data. However, the application of DSS in Social Insurance is just in underway stage. There is much prospect of Social Insurance DSS.This paper researches the construction of Social Insurance DSS. Firstly, it introduces the superiority of comprehensive DSS and deeply analyzes the theory of DW, OLAP and DM technologies and the inherent relation between three kinds of technology. The next, using the project of Social Insurance Assistant Decision-making System as the application instance, this paper introduces DSS frame based on DW. In this paper we makes certain DW platform, OLPA tool and DM tool and shows the detailed design of DW of Social Insurance DSS. After that, the paper introduces the extract, transform and load process of DW data. Finally, it outlines the general design scheme of Social Insurance DSS based on DW and applied OLAP and DM technologies. It is an exploration of DSS benefits to Social Insurance.
