In radar signal and information processing system, data acquisition system is an indispensable unit. High-speed and large capacity is the key to radar data acquisition system and should be solved urgently to provide the data with more precision to radar data processing. Most radars work in circular scanning and have different modes in one scanning circle. With consideration of this, this dissertation proposes a design of variable parameter modes radar data acquisition system based on PCI bus.The design aims at sampling the analog radar video signal in variable parameter modes, then transferring these data to PC memory and finally saving them on the harddisk. The dissertation introduces the variable paramter modes design which is the kernel of the design and also introduces the hardware system and the software system.This hardware system with an 8 bit 20MSPS acquisition channel can sample the radar signal with 16 variable and presettable parameter modes. The sampling data are then stored in the SDRAM, and transferred to PC's memroy by PCI bus. All these operations are controlled by FPGA. The dissertation introduces not only PCI bus protocol and PCI9054 in detail, but also the FPGA logic design.The software system accesses and operates the hardware so that people can set up different parameter modes and it displays the sampling data. The design of driver and application, which is developed by PLX SDK, is introduced in detail in this dissertation.The results demonstrate that the system can work effectively to support the subsequent real-time processing of radar data, the maximum rate of data transferring can reach 100Mbyte/s.
