With the development of control,computer,communication,network technique, designing the remote monitoring system is the inexorable trend.As the 2.5G technology of transition from 2G to 3G, GPRS becomes popular in industrial automation domain. On the basis of the foundation of existing technology, this paper uses the technique of computer control, GPRS, automation etc to set up the hydrology remote monitoring system including the remote monitoring, the information management and the network techniques。This paper designs the hydrology remote monitoring system, uses singlechip to do data acquisition and processing; uses GPRS and INTERNET to do data communication which, assures remote transmission, live transmission and transmission not limited by region. Through to time series, the rate of hydrology is forecasted by ARIMA(Autoregrgssive Integrated Moving Average), and the result is in expection.This paper analyzes and designs the monitoring center in detail, realizes the demand and characteristic of hydrology remote monitoring, and designs the software of monitoring center. So it can do that like data transmission, database management, forecast, alarm, video monitoring.
