Wireless sensor network is a novel technology about acquiring and processing information. It has the rapid deployment, self-organization and fault tolerance characteristies. The above described features ensure a wide range of applications for sensor networks such as: military, environment, health, industry control and so on. Recent advances in wireless communication, Mirco-Eletro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology, Integrated-Circuit have enabled the development of low-cost, low-power, multifuncational sensor nodes that are small in size and communicate untethered in short distances.The mature in technique and plenty of application needs attracte more and more concern, wireless sensor networks is becoming the domestic and international research hot in wireless network.The research on wireless sensor network which involves the planes of the architecture of network, hardware platform of node, and organization of software, such as the protocols of logic link layer and route layer and the management system is popolar worldwide. In this paper, a deep research of software structure is performed. Firstly, the paper introduces the background and application of wireless sensor networks, and has a simple description to the architecture and key techniques of wireless sensor network. Secondly, on the basis of IEEE 802.15.4, the paper studies the implement of the data link layer and route layer on our own hardware platform. Thirdly, the paper proposes and implements an algothrim to improve power management on communication module.In the end, we summarize our research achievements in wireless sensor network and discuss some future work.
