As the complexity and scope in the IC (Integrate Circuit) design field has become increscent, the function verification has also become more complex, and it has taken the most part of entire IC design process. Now there are many technologies and methods to reduce the expense on function verification, but how to find a suitable and efficacious method is still a question for discussion.The development in integrate circuit manufacture and design technology make the integrate circuit design enter the SoC (System on Chip) phase. The bridge IP between the standard Cardbus and AHB has built a road, it make the realization of data transition and protocol switchover between the two buses.In this dissertation, the author has given a function verification method base on Synopsys Verification IP. The pivotal part of the method is using Synopsys Verification IP to build BFM (Bus Function Model) and verification environment. The main contents are as follows:Did research on the leading methods, technologies, tools and languages in function verification field, expounded the flow of function verification and its three phases. Analyzed the principle of PC Card Standard and AMBA Specification.Gave the collectivity plot of the Cardbus-AHB IP core and analyzed the function points in detail, gave the function list.Made the black-box verification plan, include the reused verification system, stimulus mechanism, response mechanism and the utility based on Synopsys Verification IP bfm, then gave the file structure.Coded ten verifictiaon chunnals, 142 testcases, there are three kinds of testcases in every chunnal: the basic testcase, the band testcase and the abnormal testcases, with the description of verification sequences and the contents of every testcase.Built the verification platform base on Unix operating system, coded the automatic test script based on C Shell. Tested completely, after having all the function correct verificated, did 14 regressive test and checked the code coverage.After the kind of function verification, the IP have got the 100% coverage for function, 100% line coverage and 95% condition coverage for code. The success of function verification have made the correct foundation for the subsequent phases, it means this kind of method has good practicality value.
