This thesis emphasizes that the "core competence" should be adopted in universities' publishing houses, a publishing organization with special customer group. It also discusses theories about both the maintenance of long term existence and development and the strengthening core competence in universities' publishing houses. At the eve of further reform, universities' publishing houses face both challenges and opportunities. This thesis states universities' publishing houses' values and principles, dual-identities of both a public and a commercial entity, economic effects and social effects, and turnovers and comprehensive influences. The thesis sums up and discusses in details the three core competence of universities' publishing houses, and they are conformity capabilities, corporate culture and talents. It also uses case study which will be beneficial to the business practices of universities' publishing houses. |
